Product Care

Sylvia P Teamwear garments are manufactured to last, however due to the delicate nature of the fabrications used and crystal or sequin embellishments, steps should be followed to keep those garments looking exquisite every time.

Sylvia P Teamwear garments are made of delicate materials. To avoid pilling, do not let fabrics come into contact with any rough surfaces or Velcro. Overtime, fabrics may fade due to wearing and washing even when the care instructions have been followed due to the delicate nature of fabrics and embellishments used. Colour transfer may occur when light and dark colours are next to each other on the leotard.

Pilling can occur on sublimated or printed fabrics when they come into contact with rough surfaces. Rough surfaces are surfaces such as Velcro, concrete or rubbing from gym mats—any surface where the soft fabric might catch or rub overtime. Due to the nature of the fabric this is an issue we cannot avoid. It is important to avoid contact with rough surfaces to reduce the likelihood of pilling especially on the bottom sections on the garment. Sylvia P Teamwear will not be responsible for replacing or repairing your garment if pilling occurs.

Below are our recommendations:

DO

  • Turn garment inside out when washing. Place in garment bag if available.
  • Machine wash using mild detergent.
  • Only use a small amount of mild detergent. Too much detergent can strip delicate foils on fabrics.
  • Wash on a short cycle in cold water.
  • Remove from washing machine immediately to avoid colour transfer
  • Hang in the shade to dry, recommend hanging on a garment hanger.
  • Wash garments after each use to avoid fabric and crystal deterioration

DON'T

  • Do not soak, bleach or use strong detergents.
  • Do not use fabric softeners or other in-wash additives.
  • Do not iron.
  • Do not dry-clean
  • Do not hang in direct sunlight.
  • Do not leave garment/s in bags for long periods of time whilst damp.
  • Antiperspirants, deodorants and perfumes may cause colour transfer and foil loose at armpits.
